Dan Brouillette Photography...and other stuff too!

CHICAGO!

So, last Friday morning, I took off on I-80 east for Chicago...after too many hours in the car listening to the pod and calling every contact in my phone, I arrived to the downtown Hilton where I was greeted with mean traffic and a room on the smoking floor...ewww.  I spent the afternoon scouting locations and calling the models to make sure everyone was ready for Saturday's shoot with me and my good friend Brianna Graham. 
Saturday I picked up the model we shot last year, Hilary, and she led us to meet the rest of the group about 9am.  After sifting through TONS of clothes, we had decided on about 4-5 looks for each of the 5 models and were ready to shoot.  We started in the underground parts of lower Wacker and the other maintenance areas of the city, moved to the beach in the afternoon, sipped on Caribou coffee and then ended the day in the alleys under the train downtown.  It all went smooth, minus the part about me locking my keys in my car, but after that minor incident, the day was a major success and we came out with hundreds of shots to edit.  After a quick 1/2 day edit, here are some of the shots from a variety of looks we tried out.  Thanks for looking!  I will have more to come and will be posting them on my flickr account here which I will link below.  - DB

Another blog post...

Well, there is not much to this post other than asking for some comments and teasing you with how this weekend went.  First off, I shot 5 amazing models in downtown Chicago for 10 hours on Saturday...nearly 16GB later, I have some keepers.  Secondly, I am going to kick this interrogation/interview thing off soon with some VERY good photographers so I NEED you guys to submit some questions you want answered(just general as I won't reveal who the photographer is until I post) and any thing else you want me to talk with them about. 

If I have no questions from all the 300+ who read this everyday(or when I post!), I will make some up myself and I can promise you they might not be that great.  I am looking for a mix of photo related questions as well as anything else you would want to know from another photographer.  Ok, enough of that talk.  Here is a shot of an old abandoned air strip I found recently...kind of a fun place to shoot so hopefully this is the first of many shots from here.

Old stuff...and a bunch of new to come!

So...I was looking for something tonight on one of my 5 external drives...ya, i know...anyways, after narrowing it down from 4terabytes to a few gigs, I randomly came across some old raw photos that never seemed to make capture 1.  To my surprise, I found the photo below, just waiting for an edit!  It is from a shoot I did with Rod Evans well over a year ago using a home made ringlight(about $100, Homedepot). 

On a more recent note, I leave tomorrow for Chicago!  Me and my good buddy Brianna Graham are making the trek to shoot the lovely Hilary, who we shot last time, along with 3-4 other models downtown, on the beach, and in a super secret special location!  For this fun event, I have even decided to turn back the clock and test my technical ability by using Brianna's Mamiya RZ67 Pro II....let's hope I don't ruin all 20 rolls of film I bought!
